The Sumatra coffee is as rich in flavor as it is rich in coffee history. Amazingly enough, it was once thought to be lost to the world and it took over 100 years for the rare cultivar to be rediscovered, hidden amongst the lush jungle of Sumatra. Since then, these ancient Arabica trees have been replanted in the Mandailing Province of West Sumatra which is now world famous for its production of gourmet coffee.
It was the Dutch coffee and spice traders who were responsible for originally establishing the region's reputation in 1835 with the intention of exporting premium coffee for The Dutch East India Trading Company. This coffee was so highly valued in Europe that it guaranteed the Dutch a complete monopoly on the global coffee trade for over 200 years!
It is no wonder that Black Satin coffee is a dark-roasted coffee favorite. It has a thick and syrupy chocolaty mouth feel with a rich brown sugar taste. This gourmet coffee is widely known for its full-bodied texture, mild earthy notes, and deep-toned coffee aroma. It is low in acidity with a slight black pepper finish.
Sumatra Black Satin Roast Coffee is a delicious indulgence that will prove itself in the very first cup. This coffee will be shipped freshly roasted in a sealed valve bag to bring you optimal aroma and flavor. For hundreds of years, Sumatran coffee has been proving its potential cup after cup. Isn't it time you tried it?
